
Sylvia Barreto Benites
Founder and Director
Sylvia is the Founder and Director of IREN. She has been a teacher for twenty-eight years. She received her master's degree in Education at Dowling University, New York. Her great passion for using brain mapping and neuro research to enhance teaching and learning motivation, this led her to write a thesis on Multi-Sensory Teaching. Since then she has been studying neurological findings and their relationship with learning in children, adolescents and adults.
Esteban Monge Bermudez
Founder and Subdirector
Esteban received his master's degree in Physics with a specialization in Scientific Instrumentation at Stony Brook University, New York. He has worked as a researcher in superconducting and molecular devices. In Tamarindo he has taught science, physics and mathematics. He also helped educational centers start their own computer laboratories.


Yamileth Bermudez
Founder and Treasurer
Yamileth has a master´s degree in Human Rights and Education for Peace From the University National of Costa Rica. She is also a specialist In Social Communication.
She was the Ambassador of Costa Rica in Paraguay and El Salvador.
Yamileth has extensive experience in the field of promoting and defending civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights.
Yamileth also participated in processes of democratic consolidation in Latin America with the Organization of American States (OAS)

Julia Batoki
Administrative Assistant
Jules has multiple Language Arts degrees from the USA. She graduated Magna Cum Laude Liberal Arts coursework at Lakeland Community College and has a Bachelors of Science degree of Communication at Ohio University.
Jules has taught English as a second language. She is a practiced tutor in linguistics and writing morphology.
