Sylvia Barreto Benites
Founder and Director
Sylvia is the Founder and Director of IREN. She has been a teacher for twenty-eight years. She received her master's degree in Education at Dowling University, New York. Her great passion for using brain mapping and neuro research to enhance teaching and learning motivation, this led her to write a thesis on Multi-Sensory Teaching. Since then she has been studying neurological findings and their relationship with learning in children, adolescents and adults.
Esteban Monge Bermudez
Founder and Subdirector
Head of Math
Esteban received his master's degree in Physics with a specialization in Scientific Instrumentation at Stony Brook University, New York. He has worked as a researcher in superconducting and molecular devices. In Tamarindo he has taught science, physics and mathematics. He also helped educational centers start their own computer laboratories.
Founder and Treasurer
Yamileth has a master´s degree in Human Rights and Education for Peace From the University of Costa Rica. She is also a specialist In Social Communication.
She was the Ambassador of Costa Rica in Paraguay and El Salvador.
Yamileth has extensive experience in the field of promoting and defending civil, political, economic, social, and cultural rights.
Yamileth also participated in processes of democratic consolidation in Latin America with the Organization of American States (OAS)
Teresa is from Argentina. She studied Social Communication and worked in public relations for 15 years. In 2014 she moved to Costa Rica and worked as a Spanish teacher for Wayra. She was the Coordinator of the Association of Development of Tamarindo (ADIT) and Communication Manager for Costa Rica Vacations. She also teaches English at Lexis Tamarindo.
Inge is from Costa Rica. She has been working with children for 23 years. She speaks Spanish, English and Italian. She is a teacher and has a degree in psychopedagogy and a Masters Degree in Educational Psychology.
Inge worked in Kinder la Lia, Guardería Little Step, Colegio Internacional Canadiense, Mount Hope School, Kayros and New World Montessori.
English and History Teacher
Jules has multiple Language Arts degrees from the USA. She graduated Magna Cum Laude Liberal Arts coursework at Lakeland Community College and has a Bachelors of Science degree of Communication at Ohio University.
Jules has taught English as a second language. She is a practiced tutor in linguistics and writing morphology.
Yaritza Cruz Soto
Explorers and Observers Tutor
Yaritza is a graduate in Preschool Education from the University of Costa Rica. She also studied psychology for two years. Yaritza worked in daycare centres IMAS and at Children's Center of the University of Costa Rica.
Laura Ruiz Rocha
Laura is Costa Rican English Teacher. She is a Speech Therapist who worked with Montessori technique for 12 years. Laura worked as a teacher for public and private schools in Guanacaste.
Julio Fonseca Hernández
Julio is an English teacher. He has been teaching for 10 years. He worked at the Ciudadelas de Libertad Foundation, the Calle Blancos Professional Technical College and the National University of Costa Rica.
He also offers classes in English, Spanish and tutorials through Himbees.com
Alex Martínez Gutiérrez
Physical Education Tutor
Alex is from Costa Rica. He is a Physical Education teacher. He has worked in Education for the Ministry of Public Education (MEP). He was a professional football player in Liberia, Guanacasteca, Jicaral, Puntarenas and minor leagues in Saprissa.
Tatiana Mora Mora
Tatiana is from Costa Rica and has a degree in English Teaching at the Latina University. She has been working with children for more than five years.
Jordan is from the United States. He received a Psychology degree from Bowling Green State University. He has been working in education with children for more than 10 years.
